Lower back pain when running?
Do you have lower back pain when running? Or after? This is pretty common in runners, and what’s going to help long term is bringing better strength and awareness to the core muscles, improving alignment and relieving lumbar compression.
How to Relieve Lower Back Pain
Lower back pain from running can often be reduced, and eventually solved by greater core strength, and core awareness.
A stronger core (the muscles that support the spine from all sides) will enable you to stay taller and maintain better posture whilst you run. And with improved alignment, comes better running form and reduced compression in the lower back. It’s this compression, especially when built up over long distances, that is so often the cause of lower back pain in runners.
In this short yoga sequence, I share a few great poses for you to try and incorporate into your daily routine to reduce and hopefully end lower back pain.
I hope you enjoy this class, find these exercises beneficial in solving your lower back pain, and discover that your overall running technique and joy in running improves! Please leave me your comments and let me know how you get on!
